Loadsmart is a freight tech company that's been operating since 2014 with a big API focus-especially with TMS platforms. For those unaware, API is essentially a data connection between two sources that usually has the goal of making a process more streamlined. With how fragmented many sectors of our supply chain have and currently still are--adopting more AI use cases could have a profound benefit. Loadsmart is using more and more AI technology and applying it to freight in order to automate how truckload and intermodal freight are priced, booked, and shipped. In today's conversation, we're chatting with Loadsmart's VP of account management, Ben Buchanan on how the company is leveraging this technology as well as adapting to a new hybrid work model. Listen to these shows next: Using Cloud Computing to Solve Supply Chain Problems with Microsoft's Ayman HussainDeep Fakes, Copy Bots, and How Artificial Intelligence Will Affect CreatorsHow AI Can Help Freight Brokers Manage Capacity with Lindsay Watt of ParadeA very beginner’s look into the MetaverseNFT’s, Futurism, and Fascinating Start-Ups with Nasjaq...

The Puppy Interview with Matt Barr of GEODIS' e-Logistics Brand

Depending on your affinity for dogs, you may want to hit pause, check the show notes, and open up the YouTube link to watch this particular episode instead of listening. Why? Because I'm joined by Matt Barr- Senior Director of Product Strategy at e-Logistics, a GEODIS brand and we're conducting this interview while half a dozen puppies crawl all over us. Yes, I did just say that puppies were crawling all over us during this entire conversation about the growth of e-commerce and how the e-logistics brand was established under GEODIS to cater to entrepreneurs in need of a logistics and software solution customized for them. You see, we conducted this interview live in Las Vegas at Manifest: The Future of Logistics conference. There was an area on the expo floor complete with a puppy lounge where Manifest partnered with a local humane society to bring in puppies each day of the conference to give folks an area to decompress from too much peopling. A brilliant sponsorship idea that GEODIS was smart as hell to seize the opportunity. It's a fun conversation that I think we hold together pretty well considering my normal reaction to this moment would be to forget any conversation and focus on puppy breath. All that to say you can listen to this audio version or you can check out the show notes for a link to the youtube version that has said puppies crawling all over us. Same convo just with puppies.WATCH THIS INTERVIEW ON YOUTUBE→WITH PUPPIES!Check out the GEODIS website and follow them on LinkedinConnect with Matt Barr on LinkedinSearch by topic and check out all our past episodes of the Digital Dispatch podcast—right on our website....

Freight Broker Training That Isn’t a Scam

A couple of weeks ago I was on a call with a prospect who was looking for help with her marketing. She had paid for a freight broker training course where she would be able to work under the company’s MC # when the training was completed. Only when she was done with the training, the course owner ghosted her and she was left without a pathway forward. This was heartbreaking because very few people can afford to drop a couple grand on a training course that doesn’t lead to an actual job. So I posted about it to Linkedin and mannnnnnnn, the freight community really came through. Within a few hours, I had people from all over the US reaching out to help a woman they’ve never met but knew she genuinely wanted to get involved in the freight industry. The community came through by offering up contacts and resources to help her and it was also a reminder about my friends Ben and Nate over at Freight 360. You see, they’ve actually done the hard work of creating a legitimate freight broker course. It’s so good that they’ve secured training partnerships with the TIA and other industry leaders. Not only do they offer the course, but they consistently offer sales training to keep your educational journey moving in a good direction. All that to say, we’ve got Freight 360 co-host and co-founder Ben Kowalski on today’s show dropping a ton of gems on what prospective freight brokers need to know before they purchase a course, what sales strategies brokers should be implemented in 2022, what marketing can do to help sales teams, and so much more. It’s a valuable conversation for everyone just starting out to those looking to upgrade their game. Connect with Ben Kowalski on LinkedinCheck out Freight360’s website and freight broker courseCheck out these shows next: Annual 3PL Study reveals how brokers can differentiate from their competitorsHow Three Freight Agents Found Their Path to SuccessHow to fix your shady email listMarketing vs. Sales in Freight [rebroadcast]Content Creation with The Freight Coach Chris JollyA Freight Family Affair with Burns LogisticsHow AI Can Help Freight Brokers Manage Capacity with Lindsay Watt of Parade...
